China Experience (Beijing - Xian - Shanghai) 7 Nights/8 Days This tour brings you the best of Bejing, China’s cultural and political capital. You will begin by visiting the Great Wall at Badaling, 45 miles northwest of Beijing, which provides the perfect opportunity to see the countryside surrounding the city. You will have the opportunity to walk, climb or travel by cable car along this incredible wall. You will then explore the beautiful Sacred Way, which is guarded by stone statues of the Emperors’ officers, officials and animals dating from the 15th Century. Then it’s on to Xian, home of the Terracotta Warriors dating back to 221 BC and the starting point of the ancient Silk Road and the cultural centre of western China. You will spend about two hours studying the thousands of Terracotta Warriors and their chariots before visiting the Wild Goose Pagoda and enjoying a Tang Dynasty Show later in the evening. The tour also takes you to Tiananmen Square to see the Great Hall of the People and other historical monuments. Then it’s on to the Forbidden City and the Temple Of Heaven where the Ming and Qing Dynasty Emperors and Empresses lived and ruled from 1420 to 1924. You will also visit Shanghai, China’s largest city and economic centre and Yu Garden with typical pagodas and classic architecture from the Qing Dynasty. You will visit a functional Buddhist temple, the Jade Buddha Temple and spent time on Nanjing Road and Shanghai’s famous Bund.
