Aswan/Abu Simbel by Car (Full Day) This is a full 10-hour tour starting with a three-hour drive to Abu Simbel (280 kilometres south of Aswan). Its temples are among the most magnificent monuments in the world and were built by the great pharaoh Ramesses II. These 3000-year-old monuments are the grandest and the most complete examples of ancient Egyptian architecture. The great temple is dedicated to the sun god (Ra) while the second smaller temple is dedicated to the goddess Hathour and was built for Nefertiti, the pharaoh’s wife.
