City Tour - Imperial Rome (Half Day).
Arriving at Piazza Venezia with its impressive monument dedicated to King Victor Emanuel II and the Unknown Soldier, you continue by foot to the famous Piazza del Campidiglio designed by Michelangelo. From here there is a wonderful view of the Roman Forum. You then continue by coach via the Circus Maximus and the Pyramid of Caius Cestius, before arriving at the Basilica of St Paul. The tour will be completed with a stop at the imposing Colosseum. Return to, or nearby, your central hotel.

Glimpse the glories of Imperial Rome as you drive by and admire the Roman Forum; the Colosseum; the Arch of Constantine and the Circus Maximus. You then drive along the banks of the Tiber to see the imposing Castel Sant’Angelo heralding your approach to St. Peter’s. Set in the ancient Aurelian Walls that frame part of the Villa Borghese park you’ll see a couple of the most beautiful gateways in Rome: Porta Flaminia, through which you can admire the Piazza del Popolo, and the Porta Pinciana, through which you reach the famous Via Veneto, symbol of “la dolce vita” in the city. There will be two stops on this tour: at Piazza Navona, to see Bernini’s beautiful Fountain of the Four Rivers, and at the Trevi Fountain, so that you can take part in the popular tradition of throwing coins into the fountain. Return to the vicinity of your hotel.
