The beautiful white sands and crystal-clear waters of Al Mughsail Beach are the ideal setting to enjoy the views of lush green mountains. A short distance away, the Marneef Cave offers visitors a spectacular sight of natural blowholes that spout high fountains of clear water. Heading further inland, the rain-drenched mountain ranges are home to beautiful, hidden waterfalls and picturesque walking trails.
The Dhofari cuisine of Salalah features a few unique flavours and preparations that cannot be found anywhere else in the country. Ask a local to take you to the Muthbe grillers and sample this delicious salted meat or chicken preparation made on clean wadi stones, piled on searing hot embers. In the little fishing villages surrounding Salalah, you’ll get to enjoy simple but satisfying Indian Ocean seafood specialities made with the fresh catch of the day. And don’t forget to sample a mouth-watering coconut drink from one of Salalah’s many famous beachside fruit huts.
